Who: Sarah Palin and Tina Fey

Background: Sarah Palin is the current Governor of Alaska, and will be John McCain’s running mate in the Republican vice presidential candidate in the November 2008 election. Tina Fey is best known for her work on Saturday Night Live as well as her work on 30 Rock, a situation comedy loosely based on her experiences at Saturday Night Live.

Who: Joe Lieberman and The Cowardly Lion

Background: Joe Lieberman is the junior United States Senator from Connecticut who was first elected to the United States Senate in 1988 and elected to his fourth term on November 7, 2006. The Cowardly Lion roared into movie history in the classic 1939 film The Wizard of Oz where liquid courage, given to him by the Wizard and is later replaced with a medal marked Courage.

Different but the same: The Cowardly Lion learned that although he feared his nemesis, his strength was in the act of standing up to them and the fear was what justified his bravery. Joe Lieberman was the Vice Presidential candidate for the Democratic Party in the year 2000 and he like the Cowardly Lion, stood up to his nemesis and spoke at the Republican Convention to openly endorse John McCain, that takes some moxy!

Background: Sarah Louise Heath Palin is the current Governor of Alaska, and will be John McCain’s running mate in the Republican vice presidential candidate in the November 2008 election. Peggy Hill is the wife of Hank Hill and the mother of Bobby Hill in the animated series King of the Hill.
