Background: John Sidney McCain III is a United States Senator from Arizona and the Republican Party nominee for President of the United States in the 2008 election. McCain is a graduate of The Naval Academy and a decorated war veteran. McCain is known to have a feisty personality and likes to rock the Hip hop, House and Alternative Salsa music on his limited edition OPP (yeah, you know me) iPod.

Wallace and Gromit are the main characters in a series of four animated short films, a series of ten short-animated sequences by Nick Park of Aardman Animations.

Who: Michael Andretti and Todd Palin

Background: Michael Andretti is a retired Formula One race care driver. Michael is the son of Mario who is one of the most popular drivers of all time. Todd Palin is the husband of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, who is also the 2008 Vice Presidential  nominee for the Republican Party. Todd Palin is also known as the First Gentleman or “First dude” of Alaska.

Background: Sarah Palin is the current Governor of Alaska, and will be John McCain’s running mate in the Republican vice presidential candidate in the November 2008 election. Tina Fey is best known for her work on Saturday Night Live as well as her work on 30 Rock, a situation comedy loosely based on her experiences at Saturday Night Live.

Who: Joe Lieberman and The Cowardly Lion

Background: Joe Lieberman is the junior United States Senator from Connecticut who was first elected to the United States Senate in 1988 and elected to his fourth term on November 7, 2006. The Cowardly Lion roared into movie history in the classic 1939 film The Wizard of Oz where liquid courage, given to him by the Wizard and is later replaced with a medal marked Courage.

Different but the same: The Cowardly Lion learned that although he feared his nemesis, his strength was in the act of standing up to them and the fear was what justified his bravery. Joe Lieberman was the Vice Presidential candidate for the Democratic Party in the year 2000 and he like the Cowardly Lion, stood up to his nemesis and spoke at the Republican Convention to openly endorse John McCain, that takes some moxy!

Alvin the Chipmunk exhibits an alpha-chipmunk type personality and is the lead vocalist of the group, The Chipmunks, which include his brothers Simon, and Theodore. Alvin is known for constantly coming up with hare-brained schemes and for trying to get one over on Dave. Alvin is most well known for singing about a damn ”Hula hoop” during the song Christmas Don’t Be Late, which torments me every year around Christmas time!
