Background: Kevin Smith is an American screenwriter, film director and actor who is most well known for his films: Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back and Clerks II. Robert Smith (no relation) was an American disc jockey who became world famous in the 1960s and 1970s under the stage name of Wolfman Jack.

Noise: Kevin Smith made his first film, Clerks, for a total cost of $27,575 and the film earned $3.1 million on a very limited release. Since then, his characters “Jay and Silent Bob,” have appeared together in five big budget films.
